Last Saturday (October 12), there was a small group activity at Yeobaek Seowon in Yeoju. It was hosted by Honorary Professor Jeon Young-ae of the German Language and Literature Department of Seoul National University. The event was attended by 12 members and their partners.
At 11am, we met and greeted each other. From around 11:20 am, Professor Jeon showed us around Yeobaek Seowon. As we slowly looked around the place listening to her explanation, we were very impressed by the meaning of the facilities and plants. We could feel her passion and appreciation for everything in Yeobaek Seowon.
Around 1pm, we enjoyed lunch outside. Members had pleasant conversation in the beautiful scenery.
After lunch, there was a lecture by Professor Jeon inside the seowon. While listening to the lecture, we could feel her deep love for German literature. Professor Jeon has not only studied German literature on her own, but has also tried hard to convey the joy that German literature can give to those who do not speak German. This was a very valuable experience in which we were able to recognize Professor Jeon’s hard work and dedication.
